Happy Holidays

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Perry Farms wish you and your family the happiest of holidays. We are truly blessed here at Perry Farms; we enjoy good food, friends, and a warm happy family.

Many events helped structure 2009, some good, some better, but all significant to our farm and way of life.

The weather this year was good most of the year, with rain plentiful and aiding in a bountiful harvest and snow available for the kids to enjoy more than just one day.

Our animals were healthy and productive again this year. We are happy with our livestock and the large part they play for our farm.

Hunting was good this season, with deer plentiful and healthy. Our freezer was replenished with some high quality venison.

Our taxidermy business was stable most of the year and busy now as the deer season has hit its full swing.

This website is better than ever before, thanks in large part to our webmaster and neighbor, Kevin. He takes great care of us and is a good friend.

2009 was tough economically for everyone, but overall, Perry Farms enjoyed another blessed year.

Happy Thanksgiving

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

The leaves are falling faster than I can rake em’ up. The kids are running around really enjoying the cooler weather, chickens and their dog and cat. Deer hunting is very good this fall, nice bucks with large racks to hang on a wall and fill a freezer. These are just a few of the things we are thankful for here at Perry Farms.

As many people complain about the economy, prices of everything and all the normal things complained about around the “water cooler”, we prefer to be thankful. Our health, kids, cattle, calves, chickens and even those aggravating turkeys are all things we are thankful for.

Glass half full is only a saying, or is it? Some will agree that it is an outlook or perspective on ones day to day living or life. We try to instill in our children that attitude is everything, if you think negative, negative things usually happen and your feel miserable. If you have a positive outlook, better things seem to happen to you. We are grateful for our farm and the bounty it produced this year.

In closing, try not to let the things you can not control get you down. Don’t believe all the negative things you may hear and enjoy your family as much as humanly possible.

Fall is Here

Monday, October 12th, 2009

The leaves are turning beautiful colors and falling off the trees, temperatures are dropping, and the animals are foraging for the winter, yes NC, Fall is here!

The changing of seasons always means significant changes around Perry Farms. We begin to stock fire wood, gather our last harvest and prepare the livestock for the upcoming winter.

We embrace fall as our favorite season. Hunting and fishing arguably are never better. With the start of deer season and turkey season soon to be, hunters all over NC are anxious to get into the woods.

The summer has been good to us this year. Crops, livestock and the overall farm produced well. Rainfall was plentiful, but not overbearing, temperatures were warm this year, but not the scorching hot we’ve seen in the recent past.

The change of seasons, we celebrate it heartily here at Perry Farms
